Two kindergartens exploded with upper respiratory tract infection, a total of 46 children infected with the epidemic have been censored earlier

The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health today (10th) investigated two outbreaks of upper respiratory tract infections involving two kindergartens in Wong Tai Sin and Sham Shui Po districts. A total of 46 children developed fever and sore throat.

As the two kindergartens were included in the mandatory testing announcement on the 10th and April 22 of this month respectively, the Center for Protection has requested the kindergartens concerned to suspend classes for at least 5 days for cleaning.

As the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection are similar to those of new coronary pneumonia, two kindergartens have been included in the mandatory testing list earlier.

The two kindergartens are Jin Hing Kindergarten of Po Leung Kuk, Fung Tak Village, and Pang Lu Shuyan Kindergarten of Yan Oi Tong, Hai Lai Shopping Centre.

Among them, 13 boys and 9 girls in the Yan Oi Tong Pang Lu Shuyan Kindergarten were infected, including symptoms such as cough, runny nose, fever and sore throat.

Their earliest onset date was April 20. Among them, 20 people have sought medical treatment, one of them needs to be admitted to the hospital and has been discharged, and all of them are in stable condition.

As for the Jinqing Kindergarten of Po Leung Ju, Fengde Village, 9 boys and 15 girls were infected. They also developed cough, runny nose, fever and sore throat. The earliest date of onset was May 7.

Fifteen of them have sought medical treatment; all are in stable condition and do not need to be hospitalized.

The kindergarten involved will be suspended for at least 5 days

As the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection are similar to those of new coronary pneumonia, two kindergartens have been included in the mandatory test list on April 22 and May 10 earlier to rule out the possibility of contracting the new coronavirus.

The Center for Protection has also requested the relevant kindergartens to suspend classes for at least 5 days for cleaning and enforcement of mandatory testing announcements.
