A US Navy vessel fired warning shots against more than a dozen Iranian ships that had approached an American submarine in the Strait of Hormuz, the Pentagon said Monday (May 10).

Thirteen rapid attack speedboats from the Revolutionary Guards, the ideological army of the Islamic Republic, approached within 140 meters of seven American ships, before one of the US Navy ships fired 30 warning shots in two bursts, detailed John Kirby, spokesman for the Pentagon. This is the second such event in two weeks.
