There are particularly few restrictions waiting for those who have been vaccinated and recovered from corona - but what about everyone else?
In many European countries, the third corona wave is subsiding, while the vaccination rate increases daily.
Since May 9th, easing has been in effect in Germany for everyone who has been fully vaccinated or has recovered from Covid 19 disease in the last six months.
As far as full vaccination protection is concerned, 9.1 percent of the total population (as of May 8) can look forward to fewer rules in everyday life.
Conversely, there are still enough people who are waiting for a vaccination or who do not want to be vaccinated.
Will it be difficult for them to plan a summer vacation this year?
Health Minister Jens Spahn and Chancellor Angela Merkel give the all-clear on this point.
Summer vacation 2021 also possible for people without a corona vaccination
According to Jens Spahn, the current development of the corona pandemic encourages a problem-free summer vacation in Europe: "
Within the EU, traveling will probably not depend on the vaccination
. You will also be able to move around Europe-wide with the tests, "said the health minister of the Rheinische Post. However, he himself has a vacation in Germany in mind: "In this hopefully last phase of the pandemic, I would not plan any major long-distance trips, the North Sea instead of the South Sea, so to speak."
After the virtual EU summit in Porto, Angela Merkel was also confident that the
summer vacation in 2021 will also be possible for people without a corona vaccination
.
Some European partner countries such as Portugal already have very low incidences - "then I am very hopeful that we can also generally afford what was possible last summer," said the Chancellor.

The relaxations that have come into force for vaccinated and convalescent people allow those affected to enter Germany without quarantine - with the exception of entries from virus variant areas.
The prerequisite is that the
last vaccination was at least 14 days ago
.
Those who have recovered are considered to have been sick no more than six months and at least 28 days ago.
But not only within Germany, but also abroad, numerous relaxations already apply: Croatia and Greece, among others, allow quarantine-free entry for vaccinated people, while in Italy it is planned for mid-May.
However, the same rules usually also apply to travelers who can present a negative corona test.
