After Hamas threats: More than 160 rockets were fired at Jerusalem and the south
Barrages were launched from Gaza towards the capital, as well as to the Envelope and Ashkelon.
Dozens of rockets were fired, while two directly hit houses in Kiryat Anavim and Sha'ar Hanegev.
The shooting came at the end of Hamas' ultimatum.
The IDF attacked in response to an operation called "Wall Guard." According to Palestinian reports, 20 people were killed, including children.

Rocket fire from the Gaza Strip toward the south continued tonight (Monday) with barrages toward Ashkelon and the Gaza Envelope settlements. The launches began yesterday at 18:00, first in the direction of Jerusalem and its environs, with the expiration of the ultimatum issued by Hamas to Israel, in which he threatened to attack if all forces did not leave the Temple Mount area and Sheikh Jarrah during the Jerusalem Day celebrations. Dozens of rockets were intercepted.
In total, at least 160 rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel. One of seven rockets fired into the Jerusalem area hit a house in Kiryat Anavim, and one more guest, a rocket hit a house in the Negev Gate. There were no casualties in both incidents. Injuries were also recorded in houses and plazas in Sderot, Sha'ar Hanegev, Gevim and Karmiya.
Due to the security situation, the Home Front Command banned gatherings and canceled studies in the next 24 hours in all localities within 40 km of the Gaza Strip. Studies in all educational institutions, provided that there is a standard protected space and available for arrival during defense.
