The new crown pneumonia epidemic in Hong Kong continues. The Food and Health Bureau announced a compulsory testing announcement tonight (14th). Among them, 11 schools have been included in the scope of compulsory testing due to outbreaks of upper respiratory tract infection or influenza-like illness, including the Xiying Pun Jiu En School Primary School and Kindergarten Section), Kowloon Tong School (Primary School Section) and Yinghua Primary School, etc.

These schools must suspend classes for 5 days.

According to the announcement, anyone who has been in these schools for more than 2 hours between May 1 and May 14 must be tested on or before May 17 (next Monday).

In addition, due to the earlier involvement of local cases with the N501Y variant virus strain in 5 locations, people who had visited during the specified period needed to be tested again, including Tung Chung Ling Liang Tong Sau Tak Primary School, Allway Gardens Phase 1, Shop 9A Wellcome, Chai Wan Hing Wah Plaza, Chai Wan New Jade Shopping Centre, Central Global Shopping Centre (including shopping malls only), and Statue Square Garden at Chater Road, Central.

The Food and Health Bureau announced tonight that in response to an earlier local case involving the N501Y variant virus strain, people who have been in a specified place for more than one hour must undergo mandatory testing on or before May 17.

If there is a test between May 12th and 14th, it will be deemed to have complied with the mandatory test announcement.

The following 5 locations:

1) From April 8th to May 4th, I was in Lingliangtang Xiu Tak Primary School, 35 Wendong Road, Tung Chung, Lantau Island;

2) On April 22, April 24, April 25, May 2 I was in Wellcome at Shop 9A, Phase 1, Allway Gardens, Tsuen Wan;

3) I was in Xing Wah Plaza, 11 Wan Tsui Road, Chai Wan on April 29

4) On April 29, he was in New Jade Shopping Centre, 233 Chai Wan Road, Chai Wan;

5) From May 1st to May 2nd, I was in the Global Shopping Centre, 19 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong (including shopping malls only);

6) I was in the Queen's Square Garden at Chater Road, Central on May 2.

An outbreak of upper respiratory tract infection and/or influenza-like illness in Yinghua Primary School requires mandatory testing and suspension of classes for five days.

In addition, 11 schools had outbreaks of upper respiratory tract infections or influenza-like illnesses. Because the symptoms were similar to those of the new coronavirus, they were included in today’s mandatory testing announcement for the sake of caution. Schools need to suspend classes for 5 days.

The Centre for Health Protection will directly provide sample bottles to seven kindergartens.

Anyone who has been in these schools for more than 2 hours from May 1 to May 14 must undergo compulsory testing on or before next Monday (17th), located in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, including Causeway Bay Anglican Kindergarten, Sai Ying Pun Jiu Yan School (Primary and Kindergarten Section), Kowloon Tong School in Kimberon Road, Kowloon Tong (Primary Section), Sham Shui Po Ying Wah Primary School, etc.

A spokesperson for the Food and Health Bureau reminded the public that people who have received the new crown vaccine will be deemed to have complied with the requirements of the mandatory testing announcement 14 days after completing the second dose and do not need to undergo mandatory testing.

The government will set up additional mobile sampling stations on Saturday (15th) at 6 locations, including Chai Wan Park (Basketball Courts No. 1 and No. 2), Playground No. 1 of Hing Wah Village, Chai Wan, and Platform R on the 7th Floor of Allway Gardens , Outside the Central Harbour Building, North Point Car Ferry Terminal Playground, Kwun Tong Flyover Field No. 1 underneath.

There will be 62 community testing centers or mobile sampling stations in all districts in Hong Kong tomorrow.
