It was a pillar of his campaign to take the party in 2018. Fabien Roussel had promised the Communists that they would speak in their own name in the presidential election.
The deputy from the North therefore ran for the presidential election with his own people and, on May 9, more than 82% of the 30,191 voters, up-to-date members, voted for him.
They were 43,804 able to participate in the vote.
Roussel welcomed such a mobilization.
The figures, however, show the decline of his training.
Certainly, no party in France is spared by the flight of the militants, but the situation is painful in the PCF.
In 2016, during a single vote on the 2017 presidential election, there were still 56,595 contributors and 41,048 had taken part in the vote.
