Jean Castex: "We want to modernize the senior civil service, not politicize it"

FIGAROVOX / TRIBUNE - The Prime Minister defends the reform of the senior civil service and the rules for appointment to many high-profile jobs, which has drawn fierce criticism, notably in three forums by former great servants of the State published in our columns.


The government that I have the honor to lead has initiated, at the request of the President of the Republic, a very ambitious reform of the management of its senior executives, these senior officials who serve the State with abnegation and dedication, and who are however regularly given over to public opinion.

So easy and above all so unfair trial!

For more than a year, faced with the crisis we are going through, all officials - from the most modest to the most senior - have responded, exercising their profession with competence, without counting their time or their effort.

To all of you, I want to say once again my deep gratitude.
