“Giving presents” is the name of a campaign by the Isar-Loisach Cultural Association and the Tiny House Association.

Things that are no longer needed changed hands - for free.

- Whether sunglasses, pots, clothes, plush toys or books: the selection was again large - and free of charge.

After the Isar-Loisach Cultural Association (KIL) and the Tiny House Association "Simply Live Together" had already successfully called for the "Giving Gifts" campaign six months ago in front of the Loisachhalle in Wolfratshaus, the new edition of the Karl-Lederer- Place mostly on positive feedback.

In the weeks before, citizens were able to hand in items that they no longer need to the associations.

They were stored in an adjoining room of the Geltinger ambush.

So much accumulated that a large trailer of the culture stage was necessary to transport it to Geretsried city center.

Lena Gneist was one of the first to take advantage of the opportunity to rummage on Sunday afternoon and quickly found what she was looking for.

"You can always use a pillowcase," she explained.

Gneist wants to transform the fabric into a sack for clothespins.

“Living ecology and sustainability starts with doing,” she praised the gift campaign.

Selina Hoffleisch from Geretsrieder collected a whole box full of books, decorative items and toys with her partner Andreas Reis and their children.

"Since most of the flea markets were canceled due to the corona, we were happy to take advantage of the huge range on offer today," said the mother.

The fact that the implementation of the properly requested gift campaign was approved by the district office only provoked a few critical voices in the social networks.

On site, the helpers and visitors paid attention to their distances and mostly wore masks.

Mothers were allowed to take flowers home with them on Mother's Day.

That also pleased the member of the Bundestag Andreas Wagner (left), who was out in his hometown on Sunday.

"This is a good move: I might find something for my wife," he said.

In the end, KIL chairmen Assunta Tammelleo and Thorsten Thane from the Tiny House Association were not only satisfied with the voluntary donations received.

“We saw a lot of happy faces again and saved a lot of things from the garbage,” said Thane happily.
