During maintenance and repair work on a weir in the south of Erdings, a large amount of oil got into the Sempt on Thursday a week ago (we reported).

The recovery took much longer than expected.

However, there was still no environmental hazard.

Altenerding - In the planning and construction committee of the city council, CSU parliamentary group leader Burkhard asked about the cause of the oil and dirt film on the Sempt, which he had noticed on Tuesday - five days after the leak.

The answer was given by city council colleague Hans Balbach (Erding Jetzt), operator of the Lukasmühle in Altenerding.

"The fire brigade immediately tried to bind the leaked oil, with several barriers, including at the Ardeo Bridge, at the Lukasmühle and in the city park."

That's why a specialist company came back on Tuesday to pump out the unsightly film on the water, which also contained dirt and other suspended matter.

That's why the fire brigade moved out again on Wednesday.

Mayor Max Gotz (CSU) reported that the water management office had announced that there had been no major environmental damage. ham
