The pressure on Israel is expected to increase: the UN Security Council will convene first
The council will hold its first open discussion on the fighting in Gaza, which was scheduled after the United States delayed an open discussion at the request of Israel for about a week.
The US Secretary of State said that until the Security Council convenes, it will be possible to continue diplomatic efforts to see if the escalation can be stopped.
