Cheney was removed from leadership in the House of Representatives Wednesday during a closed-door meeting after she voted to impeach Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on Capitol Hill and reprimanded him for his "great lie "that the 2020 presidential elections were stolen.
Following her impeachment, Cheney said she remained committed to helping restore her party, calling the GOP's endorsement of Trump's electoral falsehoods "a continuing threat," and adding that "silence is not an option."
