The government announced earlier that it would not require all foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong to be vaccinated against the new crown, but they will undergo a second round of mandatory testing from May 15 to 30.

At Tamar Park and Chater Gardens in Central, the authorities set up inspection stations for foreign domestic helpers. There is not much crowd in the morning and inspections can be done without queuing.

Some Filipino domestic helpers said that this arrangement is better than the first round of testing, but they think the testing period can be extended.

Some people claimed that they had been asked by their employers for vaccination, but they refused because of high blood pressure.

The 370,000 foreign domestic helpers in Hong Kong will undergo the second round of mandatory testing between today and May 30.

The government has set up mobile sampling stations for foreign domestic helpers testing at various locations.

In the morning, the reporter went to the sampling stations in Tamar Park and Chater Garden. There were not many people to detect, and there was almost no need to queue up for direct registration and sampling.

At the sampling station in Chater Garden, there is a sampling vehicle set up by Sunda Biotech.

Salvacion belaos, a Filipino domestic helper who has worked in Hong Kong for 9 years, went to Chater Garden for a test in the morning.

She said that it is better to avoid queuing arrangements than the first round of testing, and that the government has provided sufficient information to know the location and time of the testing station from the people in the country.

However, she believes that the testing period should be extended, because not every domestic helper has time to do the testing.

She said that she agreed to conduct a second mandatory test for foreign domestic helpers to ensure the safety of the employer and herself.

However, she said she was worried about the side effects of the vaccine and was afraid to get the vaccine.

Leonida, a Filipino domestic helper who has worked in Hong Kong for 25 years, believes that it is necessary to conduct mandatory inspections for foreign domestic helpers to ensure their own safety.

She said that although the employer allowed the test on weekdays, she took advantage of the test when she was on vacation today.

She felt sad about the death of a Filipino domestic helper after being vaccinated earlier. When talking about the incident, she choked up. She said that although she did not know the foreign domestic helper who passed away, she was particularly touched by the arrival of the Philippines.

She said that her employer had requested her to be vaccinated, but she refused to be vaccinated because she had high blood pressure. Fortunately, she was forgiven by her employer.

She also said that if the government mandates an injection, she may consider leaving Hong Kong.
