Simultaneously with the rocket fire to the south, a security incident took place this evening (Friday) on the northern border, near Metula, when dozens of pro-Palestinian demonstrators stood on the Lebanese side of the border and tried to cross into Israeli territory, lighting fires on the spot.
The IDF responded by firing at them and smuggling them into Lebanese territory. According to reports, one of the demonstrators, a 21-year-old man, was shot and killed by an IDF force.
Later, when it got dark, the IDF sent bombs over the spot to keep it lit until they were removed. It was reported that the lights in the northern and eastern part of the colony would be darkened.
