Kiltrahinger Strasse in Gilching is to become a bicycle street.

Gilching - "This is a very good solution," said Martin Fink (CSU), chairman of the meeting, after the committee for the environment and traffic of the Gilching municipal council unanimously decided this week to designate another bicycle road.
The ADFC local association Gilching had submitted the application.
Kiltrahinger Strasse, which runs parallel to Karolingerstrasse, turned out to be suitable.
At an on-site meeting, the police, the public order and civil engineering authorities and representatives of the parliamentary groups were represented in the local council.
"Kiltrahinger Strasse is a safe and easy-to-use east-west cycle route. With a designation as a cycle route, it is to be expected that bicycle traffic on this route will increase in the future," said the ADFC local association. In particular, it is a good opportunity for schoolchildren to get to school and the sports center on Talhofstrasse safely by bike or on foot - instead of having to take the busy Karolingerstrasse. In its application, the ADFC also points out that the measure can be implemented relatively inexpensively, as no structural changes are necessary. He recommends using pictograms to point out the bicycle road at the crossings and junctions.
"This is an important step to increase the safety of cyclists", confirmed Tobias Baumann, head of the citizen service in the town hall.
In addition, the administration will explicitly look for a solution when exiting the Starnberger Weg so that cyclists do not drive unchecked on the often busy road, he promised.
Before the measure is implemented while maintaining the right of way situation right before left, the administration should check whether this is legal.
A speed limit of 30 applies on bicycle roads, cars and motorcycles must neither hinder nor endanger cyclists, and they must not jostle when the cyclists are riding next to each other.
This is allowed on bicycle roads.
