The Holzkirchen Middle School is being rebuilt at the old location - the whole school is meanwhile being outsourced.

Now the building committee has dealt with the plans for the transition.

Holzkirchen

- The ailing middle school in Holzkirchen is to be replaced by a new building.

During the construction phase, the students are accommodated in an interim building that is being built around 200 meters south of the existing building on Baumgartenstrasse.

If everything goes well, the construction of the containers will start this autumn.

The main committee has now dealt with the design and approval planning for the interim school.

Architect Stefan Sterl from the engineering office BLWS in Bodenmais and the Rosenheim landscape architect Klaus Schurr were connected online and sketched the plans.

As Werner Kulessa from the building authority reported, the preliminary design could be "continued without any major changes".

Only the lane for the initially planned kiss-and-ride zone, i.e. the pick-up and drop-off area, on Baumgartenstrasse has now been eliminated.

As reported, above all CSU councilor Martina Schweighofer, herself a teacher at the middle school, campaigned for the area for the parents' taxi to be reduced.

Sidewalk planned east of Baumgartenstrasse

Alternatively, a sidewalk will now be made on the east side of Baumgartenstrasse in front of the interim school, "where students can get out," explained Kulessa. In addition, pupils are to walk on the sidewalk west of Baumgartenstrasse from the bus stop at the existing school to the interim school and cross the street at the level of the entrance there. Apart from that, there should be a narrow lane for a length of five meters in the access area. "So that the children can safely pass the street." The cost estimate of seven million euros remains. It is even just below that, added architect Sterl. At around 6.8 million euros. "We use the standard rental model."

Sterl also stated that no major changes were necessary. If the committee agrees, he can quickly send the plans to the district office. As reported, the containers are to be arranged in the shape of an H, with a shorter and a longer bar. A total of 16 classrooms and a lunchtime care room for the elementary school on Quirin-Regel-Straße are spread over three floors. There are also all the necessary specialist and group rooms. The main entrance is on the north side of the auditorium, which in turn is on the ground floor of the connecting corridor.

The ground floor will be designed to be barrier-free, explained Sterl.

All other floors do not have to be barrier-free.

“This is agreed with the district office.” Mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU) remarked: “The planning has been coordinated with our disability officer.” The three-story building will have a gable roof, added Sterl.

That serves as "summer heat protection".

The school yard comes on the south side

Schurr went into the open spaces.

The schoolyard is on the south side.

An embankment will be equipped with seat tree trunks.

Fast-growing plants should make the plant nice and green.

Wires for hops can be stretched on the facades.

"That the students feel comfortable in the two years that they are there." Umbrellas and pergolas provide protection from the sun.

In addition, 170 bicycle parking spaces will be created in front of the entrance on the north side. There are also 17 parking spaces available. Six of them will be accommodated on the interim property north of the building. Eleven are used at the existing school.

Torsten Hensel (FWG) liked the outdoor areas: “I'm delighted that the Kiss & Ride zone has been cut.” That greeted Anita Gritschneder (Greens). “The children can still get out safely.” The gable roof is a good solution so that it doesn't get too hot in summer. Sebastian Franz (CSU) was concerned about the transport links. In view of the interim school and the construction work, there will be a lot going on at this point. He asked whether it could be readjusted if necessary, for example by means of a Tempo 30 signage. Schmid nodded. Josef Sappl senior (CSU) wanted to know whether agricultural vehicles and the snow plow could get through despite the narrowing of the lane. Schmid said yes.

The committee unanimously voted for the draft and approval planning to be submitted as a building application.

He also authorized the mayor to sign contracts for construction work and container rental, provided that the cost estimate was not exceeded by more than ten percent.
