Hummus-Sana
The works of the late plastic artists Bassam Jabili and Abdullah Khan, who were lost by the art movement last year, were the guest of the plastic exhibition hosted by the Subhi Shuaib Art Gallery in the city of Homs.
The exhibition organized by the Homs branch of the Fine Artists Union in honor of the memory of Jbeili and Khan included 30 of their works that were dominated by the sentimental character burdened with humanitarian concerns.
On the exhibition and the purpose of holding it, Emile Farha, head of the plastic artists branch of Sana Cultural, explained that the branch wanted to shed light on these two creators who presented two distinct experiences with their beautiful works and artistic methods and had their presence in the square and it is always important to remember that Homs is proud of producing artists who left an artistic legacy to be added to Its cultural treasures.
For his part, plastic artist Mohamed Mahfoud said that the exhibition was characterized by simplicity and good spirituality, which was one of the characteristics of the departed, considering it a beautiful gesture from the plastic artists branch to honor two statues that left a wonderful imprint in Syria.
Fine artist Hussein Asad found that the exhibition contained nostalgia that brought him back to the past and the beautiful memories that he had with the late Jebeili and Khan who carried human concern in their works, expressing his regret that not all of their recent works were shown in the exhibition.
The plastic artist Adnan Al-Muhammad considered that the exhibition is important because it illuminated distinguished artists with their unique artistic styles and themes that expressed the human pain in general and which is suitable for all times.
