Occupied Jerusalem - SANA
The Supreme Committee for Churches Affairs in Occupied Palestine affirmed that the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and occupied Jerusalem is a flagrant violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
The committee said in a statement on the occasion of the anniversary of the Nakba, which corresponds to the fifteenth of May of each year, and was reported by the Wafa Agency, that the Israeli occupation continues to kill Palestinians, demolish their homes and properties, as is happening now in the Gaza Strip, steal their lands and displace them, as happens in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and its attacks on their Islamic and Christian sanctities as it happens. The Al Aqsa Mosque is a continuation of what he started in 1948.
The committee clarified that the world is now witnessing the most heinous Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, and that massacres are being committed against children, women and the elderly, the most recent of which was the crime committed by the occupation at dawn today, when an entire family died as a result of the bombing of their home in the Shati refugee camp in the western Gaza Strip.
The committee stressed that security and stability in the region will only be achieved by the Palestinian people obtaining their full rights, foremost among which is the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes in accordance with Resolution 194, an end to the occupation, and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, according to the relevant international legitimacy decisions.
The committee called on the international community to intervene urgently to stop the Israeli aggression, provide international protection for the Palestinian people, and hold the occupation accountable, which insists on committing its crimes that violate international human rights charters, international law, United Nations resolutions and its charter.
