Malaysia and Indonesia called on the UN Security Council today to intervene to stop the Israeli aggression on occupied Jerusalem and the besieged Gaza Strip.

Reuters quoted Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as saying that he "agreed with Indonesian President Joko Widodo during a phone call between them on the necessity of stopping (Israel's) disgraceful behavior immediately."

Yassin added, "Our views agreed that the international community, especially the United Nations Security Council, should move quickly to stop all forms of violence committed by (Israel) and save the lives of Palestinians," noting that the UN Security Council has so far refrained from issuing any statement about the current situation.
