There is a huge gap between the way Israel is trying to market the "Wall Guard" operation and the way Hamas manages to market it to the Palestinian and Arab public.

While Israel is looking for tactical achievements, such as the operation to hit Hamas' "metro" (tunnel network) or hit one rocket depot or another, Hamas is maximizing its achievements at the strategic level by taking over the Palestinian, Arab and even Israeli arenas.

In other words, in just the last 24 hours, the organization has managed to do what no one else in the Arab arena has been able to do: expel thousands of Palestinian protesters in the West Bank, rocket fire from Lebanon, rocket fire from Syria and, above all, extremist Israeli Arabs join Hamas.

Israel is not going to win the round.

Israeli attack by Umm al-Fahm on the fence of a Jewish-Israeli settlement - Mei Ami - within the boundaries of the Green Line while chanting "Khyber Khyber Ya Yehud, Jish Muhammad Nursing", these are things we never imagined we would see in Israel in 2021. These are signs Of civil war and Hamas sweeps all the credit for that in the Palestinian arena. So true, there are many dead in Gaza, about 140, and there is extensive destruction, and still the destruction will be repaired with Qatari money (which the Netanyahu government will allow to bring in to keep calm with Gaza) and when during "Eitan", about 2,000 Palestinians were killed, Hamas minimal. This organization has never neglected the use of civilians as human shields and for it killing innocent people is a legitimate price for achieving the goals of the organization.

The operation in Gaza is beginning to exhaust itself. Israel is hitting many military targets and even achieving significant achievements, but at the same time it is also hitting civilians, and only this morning we received an example of this with the attack on the Abu Hatab family's home in the Shatti refugee camp. Eight to ten people were killed, including at least seven children and women.

In addition, it must be admitted, the possibility that Israel will succeed in achieving a "victory picture" is not really realistic, given the inability to surprise the other side.

Another Hamas military facility and another cell, another rocket facility and even a Hamas brigadier general or battalion commander, the big picture is no longer there: Israel is not going to win this round. The only chance to achieve a winning picture is through hitting Muhammad Daf himself or Yahya Sinwar but it can be assumed that the two are hiding deep underground under heavy security. Another option that could end in defeat to Hamas is a ground operation but no one including anyone in the Israeli leadership wants it.

Thousands of Palestinians took to the streets.

Yes, there is room to think about the next steps as the next round is already waiting around the corner.

It is necessary and desirable to reconsider Prime Minister Netanyahu's policy over the past 12 years, to contain Hamas and allow it to intensify militarily without interruption.

It is impossible for Israel to allow Hamas to continue producing rockets without interruption, and in the same breath to allow money to flow into Gaza and carry out a host of other humanitarian reliefs under the illusion that the monster can be fed and calmed, or from a misconception that the organization is deterred.

Hamas has shown us this time that it will not hesitate to endanger the people of Gaza and the slight improvement in the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

Therefore, there is a need for a perceptual change in the Israeli side as well, including surprising offensive moves even in days of routine and quiet.

Hamas will not hesitate to endanger residents.

So far the West Bank has been left out of the escalation story.

Individuals went out to demonstrate.

But yesterday the story changed and for years no such plays have been seen throughout Judea and Samaria.

Although this is far from the numbers we saw at the beginning of the second and first intifada and yet, these were demonstrations with the participation of thousands and more importantly, ten Palestinians were killed in the riots and another in an attempted attack.

Today is Nakba Day, with the funerals of 11 Palestinians, and one can only assume that the day will not end quietly either.

In addition, Fatah and the Palestinian Authority, which were left behind in the face of what is happening in Gaza, may even see this event as an opportunity to return to the center of the stage and allow the masses and Fatah members to burn the West Bank as well.

So a moment before, it might be worth thinking about ending the operation again and preparing for the next round of the war, and this time with the possibility of surprising Hamas.
