"With brief exceptions, we have been in emergency care mode since December," says the director of the Straß kindergarten in Miesbach *.

Until then, the everyday life of everyone involved remains anything but normal: "We educators have ourselves tested twice a week and wear masks," says Blöchinger.

In contrast to schools, there are no compulsory tests for children here.

In the case of hay fever, a doctor's certificate gives access.

“Fortunately, our parents are very responsible,” says Blöchinger.

She understands everyone who has had to look after their children for months while working from home or with smaller siblings: “Compared to the beginning of the year, significantly more parents ask whether they can take their child to emergency care for a day or two are allowed. “Many of them reach their professional limits.

Therefore, Blöchinger plans new registrations every week.

Because of the fixed groups, your team is always on site.

"Many shy away from taking a vacation," says Blöchinger.

Nobody wants to let their colleagues down if the incidence falls.

"We have been in restricted regular operation for two weeks now," says Gabriele Bödewadt.

Even if the danger for the educators increases with full occupancy - and the barrier tapes remain in the garden.

In both Miesbach and Starnberg, the educators try to keep the children as normal as possible despite everything. Although singing is still forbidden in Starnberg, birthday children are still allowed to bring cakes with them, provided they have been baked in the oven. The educators then distribute it on plates and serve it.

For educators, parents and children, it is important to persevere.

In the primary schools, in contrast to the daycare centers, regular operation takes place up to an incidence of 165.

In the afternoons, elementary school students are allowed to visit the day-care center in regular operation.

This is justifiable because school children are tested regularly and the distance rules can be better applied, according to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In the daycare centers, however, the 100 limit will continue to be held until suitable test options * are available for daycare and kindergarten children.
