Directly and without concessions, Elisa Carrió came out to criticize the decision of former president Mauricio Macri to get vaccinated in Miami against the coronavirus.
"If I was a leader of convictions and principles, I cannot go to Miami to get vaccinated," emphasized the leader of the Civic Coalition.
In an interview published this Sunday by
La Nación
, Carrió considered that "you sustain leadership as long as you are what you say you are", for which he opined that "you cannot sell leadership and then have two or three faces."
"A leader is born, not made. Now,
leaderships can be destroyed.
And that is a warning to everyone. A leader has to sustain his leadership. If I was a leader of convictions and principles, I cannot go and vaccinate to Miami. Is that clear? I maintained. I live as I say I live, "he warned.
In this sense, he affirmed that "elections can be won, but leadership is something else."
A week ago, Macri said in a post on his social networks that during his last trip to Miami he was vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Macri had traveled to the United States to speak at a seminar on "Defense of Democracy in the Americas" organized by the Inter-American Institute for Democracy.
According to the former president, he
was immunized with the single-dose vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson
.
"While in the US I was able to verify that vaccines are applied anywhere, from beaches to shopping centers, and even in pharmacies. I myself have been able to apply Johnson's single-dose vaccine in a pharmacy," he wrote in your Facebook.
The leader also questioned the current president, Alberto Fernández, about his policies in the midst of the pandemic and said that
"he is very weak
.
"
"This is obvious. In addition, I am concerned that a crisis like this will fall in Parliament with immature ages, with calmer leaders. We must prevent Argentina from sinking and having a crack. We must try to unite because if not, we will to be Colombia or Venezuela. If it does not support the Presidency, it must support the Parliament, "he added.
Regarding the economic and social crisis that the country is going through, Carrió avoided comparing it with 2001 and expressed: "In the collective unconscious there is enormous sadness and pain. And I want that pain to become something that unites us, that sustains the Republic , in something that is not violent, that does not lead us to anarchy. I am weak and soft or 'dove' I have nothing, but I know when to sustain and when to criticize ".
