The Neighbourhood Counselling Association, together with the Rotary Club of North City of Hong Kong and the Peace Center of the Hong Kong UNESCO Association, broadcast live on the Internet yesterday (16th) of the "Beyond Culture Concert Opened Opportunities to Sing a Peace Concert" co-organized by Rotary International 3450. This performance is aimed at local minority communities and sings in native languages such as English, Nepal, India and the Philippines. Fundraising to send 400 lucky bags to ethnic minority elders
The Chairman of the Neighbourhood Counselling Association, Mr. Yan Yuanhao, pointed out that unemployment and high living index under the epidemic have increased the economic pressure of ethnic minorities, and the elderly also feel isolated due to language barriers.
The concert played the interview clips of three elders from ethnic minorities at the same time, reflecting that although elders from ethnic minorities face physical problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, various pains, etc., unfortunately, due to language barriers and cultural differences, they feel isolated, not to mention Will take the initiative to seek help from the community elderly center.
The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council hopes to use this event to raise enough funds to distribute 400 health bags to ethnic minority elders.
