Today, the three candidates for the presidential elections that will be held on the twenty-sixth of this month inside Syria and on the twentieth of it outside it launched their electoral campaigns, after the Supreme Constitutional Court's decision to finally announce the list of candidates for the position, they are Abdullah Salloum Abdullah, Bashar Hafez Al-Assad and Mahmoud Ahmed Mari.
Candidate Abdullah Salloum Abdullah’s campaign came under the slogan “Our strength is our unity,” while candidate Bashar Hafez al-Assad launched his election campaign with the slogan “Hope for Work”, while candidate Mahmoud Ahmed Mari chose the slogan “Together” for his election campaign.
In the streets of Syrian cities, billboards, websites and social media pages, pictures of candidates with the slogans of their election campaigns spread, amid remarkable interaction by Syrians at home and abroad.
The Supreme Constitutional Court had set Saturday the fifteenth of May as the date for receiving notices of acceptance of candidacy for the candidates whose candidacy applications it had decided to accept. It also set the date for the start of the election campaign for candidates from the date of the 16th to the 24th of this month, provided that Tuesday, the 25th of May, will be a day of electoral silence.
