Seven border fighters were injured today (Sunday) in a car bomb attack in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem. The terrorist was neutralized by the forces. Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai arrived at the scene of the attack together with Jerusalem District Commander Doron Turgeman.
The wounded, including one who was moderately injured and the rest lightly, were evacuated to Shaare Zedek and Hadassah hospitals in Jerusalem.
In the incident, a vehicle reached a police checkpoint where the forces were stationed and ran over and hit several policemen.
According to the police, the vehicle traveling on Nablus Road turned onto Othman Ibn Afan Street, where the police checkpoint is located, and sped toward the police.
The driver, a resident of East Jerusalem, was shot and killed.
