In its second phase, the project of rehabilitation and restoration of the Museum of the Great Syrian Revolution Monument in the town of Al-Quraya is witnessing an accelerating pace and high completion rates during the past last months.

The stage that was resumed in August of last year in coordination with the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums after a hiatus for several months as a result of the circumstances resulting from the Corona epidemic during which, according to the head of the Sweida Antiquities Department, Dr. In addition to laying a layer of lentil sand and then a layer of rock wool over it, and completing the work of paving the middle square with basalt tiles, using modern technical and scientific methods of restoration.

With regard to the treatment of ground moisture in the edifice, Dr. Kiwan told SANA that the laying of the perforated pipes within a circular path around the edifice has been completed, as well as building ricks, filling the path, pouring reinforced concrete and sealing the permeable layers to prevent water leakage from the perimeter of the edifice and preparing the path for basalt tile work with pouring hall floors And preparing it for tile work (Al-Rahibani), pointing out that work has also been completed for the implementation of the implementation project for the rehabilitation of the electrical network, the heating network, the alarm and fire systems, the completion of the electrical and mechanical networks in the Al-Sarh Museum and their delivery to the contractors of civil works to follow up the works in it.

The Head of the Sweida Antiquities Department indicated that during this stage, a reinforced concrete pouring was implemented for the roofs within the approved standard specifications, pointing out that the second stage also includes the restoration and rehabilitation of the mosaic panels in the edifice museum.

It is worth noting that the Sweida Antiquities Department completed in 2019 the works of the first phase of the project of restoration and rehabilitation of the Great Syrian Revolution, during which a project was implemented to rehabilitate the rainwater drainage network on the roof of the edifice and secure new drainage lines within it, in addition to lighting the external opening of the edifice with renewable energy.
