The Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections affirmed that it would take all necessary measures to ensure the smooth running of the electoral process, constitutionally and legally, in accordance with the provisions of the General Elections Law and its executive instructions.

The committee called during its meeting today with the judicial subcommittees in the governorates to take all necessary measures to ensure that the presidential elections are carried out in an optimal manner and their integrity, and to adhere to what was stated in Paragraph D of Article 8 of the General Elections Law No. 5 of 2014 regarding the exercise of the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections its duties independently, impartially and with transparency. Without any interference in its affairs or functions.

The committee asked the subcommittees in the governorates to manage the electoral process in a neutral and transparent manner, and to keep these committees at a distance from all the candidates in this constitutional entitlement.

In a statement to SANA, the head of the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections, Judge Samer Zamrik, stated that the subcommittees had completed defining the electoral centers and securing the requirements of the electoral process in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Committee to complete the electoral process in the best way.

Zamreik explained that the electoral centers in each governorate are determined according to their needs, and that there are governorates whose centers have reached two thousand, indicating that they can be increased according to the needs to facilitate the electoral process for all citizens, in coordination with the administrative head or the governor.

Zamreik said, “In the coming days, the judicial subcommittees will take the legal oath of the heads and members of polling centers in each governorate separately,” adding: In the event of any shortage of requirements, the Supreme Judicial Committee is informed to coordinate with the Ministries of Interior and Local Administration and address it as required.

On the election centers in the Syrian embassies abroad, Zamrik pointed out that the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections is in constant coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates to secure everything necessary for the electoral process in centers abroad.

Judge Zimreik stated that the Supreme Judicial Committee for Elections manages the electoral process by naming subcommittees in the governorates, which in turn determine the electoral centers in coordination with the governor and undertake the tasks of securing the requirements of the electoral process and following up on the election centers and it carries out diligent work and provides the conditions required to manage the electoral process in coordination with the commission Supreme Elections.
