A lucky coincidence led to the fact that a demented elderly woman from Murnau, for whom up to 85 emergency services had searched unsuccessfully on Saturday, was found on Sunday.
A lifesaver was a walker from Westried.
Murnau
- The missing woman was lying southwest of the Staffelsee in a wooded area and had therefore covered several kilometers after she had disappeared from the BRK home at Garhöll.
The walker, who was out with her dog, found the 75-year-old resident of the home at around 10.35 a.m.

According to the police, the dog had informed the owner, who normally goes a different route with the animal, of the elderly woman.
Members of the Seehausen fire brigade rescued the 75-year-old from the impassable terrain.
She was conscious and in no acute danger of her life.
An ambulance took her to a hospital for medical treatment.
Search at Staffelsee: Demented woman at least one night outdoors
The elderly woman had spent at least one night outdoors. The police did not rule out the possibility that she might have been wandering around since Friday evening after she had been eating in the home. Their absence was noticed on Saturday morning. A large-scale search operation, in which the police and helicopters, among others, the Murnau, Seehausen, Weindorf and Hechendorf fire brigades and a rescue dog team, was unsuccessful - the woman was found outside the combed area. This would not have been the turn until Sunday. The dog owner was faster in this case. The "humble lifesaver," said David Hammer from the police, did not want to be named. The inspection had also turned to the public with the search for missing persons and received a lot of information from the population.
