Now a turning point in addition to digitization is to be carried out in the Neubiberger town hall.

To make it work, you get professional help.

Neubiberg - The community of Neubiberg wants to develop a “master plan for digitization”.

According to the decision of the municipal council, professional advice from outside is to be brought on board.

The company “PD partner of the public sector” exclusively advises public-institutional clients and aims to make the community of Neubiberg fit for modern administration and contemporary online infrastructure.

To this end, the municipality wants to promote the online expansion with its own workshops.

Work is scheduled to start in mid-May.

Conceptual results are targeted for September.

The local council unanimously supported the project.

The municipalities are even obliged to take this step

The Online Access Act passed in 2017 obliges municipalities to improve and adapt their administrative services and portals online by the end of 2022. The external service providers in the municipal council provided a clear foretaste of the new era. Connected online via video, PD Director Per Wiegand and Project Manager Robert Dietz outlined their approach. After an extensive inventory of the municipality's online presence, “strategies and visions” are to be developed. Finally, these should lead to a specific catalog of measures.

The two spread a wide range of topics in front of the local councils.

The change in established processes within the municipality, such as the sensitivities of municipal employees with a view to digitization, should result in possible changes to entire operational processes.

The external service providers want to accompany the “expected discussions” through “intensive mediation”.

Faster information for citizens

Mayor Thomas Pardeller (CSU) described the request of the Neubiberger municipal council. It is particularly a matter of “improving the information processes for citizens. We want to be a digital, modern and therefore sustainable community, ”said the town hall chief. Suggestions came from the local council. The approaches range from a dedicated app for improved detailed information on the Neubiberger to local political processes and so-called “smart terminals”. These are intended to enable citizens to pick up identity papers or other documents not only during city hall business hours, but around the clock in the future.

Lucas Jochum (USU) outlined the approach: "The main thing is to combine all ideas into a coherent concept". In the local council it was also emphasized that Neubiberg was already on the "good path". The extensive citizen information system with information and documents on the meetings of the municipal council and its committees is now available (www.neubiberg.de).
