At nearly half past midnight on Monday (17th), a 20-year-old man was reportedly troubled by emotional problems and sat on the edge of the roof of Shek Kwong Building, Shek Lei Second Village, Kwai Chung. He then called the police to reveal his death.
Upon receiving the report, the police officers rushed to seal off Shili Street off the building, and notified negotiators to come and lobby; the firefighters opened their rescue cushions to guard.
At nearly 5 am, the victim was finally persuaded and returned to a safe place on his own. Later, accompanied by relatives and friends, he was sent to the hospital for examination.
