A civil initiative for street lighting with solar energy in the town of Arra, As-Suwayda

Civil society activities in the town of Arra in the southwestern countryside of Sweida organized an initiative to light the streets with solar energy.

The head of the town of Erra, Samir Hamed, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that the initiative included the installation of more than 100 lighting devices, along a 2.5 km stretch from the entrance to the town of Arra to its end, towards the village of Al-Mujimer, by the townspeople, and it was funded by the community and expatriates.

Hamed explained the importance of civil initiatives that support the work of administrative units in these difficult circumstances.

The town of Ari is located 13 kilometers from the center of As-Suwayda governorate, and it has a population of about 15 thousand people.
