Bad Wiessee wants to be prepared: The community has created the conditions for hybrid meetings.

That means: in future, local councils will also be able to take part in the deliberations virtually.

Bad Wiessee / Tegernsee

- The example of Gmund clearly shows: The coronavirus does not stop at the meeting rooms of the municipal councils.

In the meantime, some municipalities have made improvements and tightened their rules for participating in the meetings, including the city of Tegernsee.

Bad Wiessee goes one step further: the local council has created the conditions for hybrid meetings.

In other words, members of the municipal council will in future also be able to take part in the regular consultations virtually, i.e. from home on the screen.

The municipality of Bad Wiessee wants to remain able to act even in an emergency

According to Mayor Robert Kühn (SPD), the community would like to prepare for an emergency with this step.

"We want to remain able to act," says the town hall boss.

Even if, for example, a corona infection spreads and threatens to paralyze work in the town hall or in the committee.

The decision to add a corresponding passage to the municipal council's rules of procedure was taken in a closed session.

And there was definitely a need for discussion in advance, as Kühn admits.

“The subject of data protection invites discussion.” In the end, the decision was nevertheless unanimous.

Hybrid meetings only with "understandable danger prevention"

In essence, the resolution says the following: In the future, members of the municipal council will be able to participate in both public and non-public meetings via livestream.

However, such hybrid meetings may only take place if there are reasons for “a comprehensible defense against danger”.

The mayor determines whether this is the case and announces this in the respective invitation to the meeting.

Technical prerequisites were created for the renovation of the town hall hall

The resolution also states: The administration must ensure that a transmission portal is used, "which is proven to be stable and meets all data protection requirements".

The technical prerequisites for such a transmission were already created in the course of the renovation of the meeting room, as Kühn reports.

The technology will probably be ready for use in the coming month.

A first hybrid meeting could theoretically take place on July 1st.

In Tegernsee, tests and masks will be compulsory in the future

In the meantime, Tegernsee has reacted to the current infection situation with a new arrangement.

In the future, all people who take part in meetings of the city council or committees must wear a suitable FFP2 mask and present a negative corona test, which must not be older than 24 hours.

To test the meeting participants must go to an official body, such as a test center.

The order says that no tests are offered on site.

Exempt from the obligation to test are people who have been vaccinated twice and those who have recovered from Corona.

A meeting of the building committee will take place on Monday (May 17th).
