Carlos Alberto Reutemann, current senator and former governor of Santa Fe, left the intensive care unit of a sanatorium in Rosario in the last hours to go to a common room, the last medical report reported.

His family shared the

first photo

since his hospitalization.

It was Mariana Reutemann, one of his daughters, who published the image on her Twitter account, with the caption

"Good morning"

, showing her father

sitting on the bed, connected to the serum and reading a newspaper

.

According to the latest medical report, the former Formula 1 driver no longer has signs of digestive bleeding and left the intensive care hospital this Sunday in which he remained for six days.

The 79-year-old senator has been in the

hospital since May 6.

Initially, he was admitted to a private sanatorium in the city of Santa Fe to undergo scheduled medical studies due to anemia, a possible sequel to a liver cancer operation in New York that he underwent in 2017.

But later the state of health of the former governor of Santa Fe worsened from an "episode of digestive bleeding" and a "hemodynamic decompensation."

For that reason he was referred to the Parque Sanatorium, a more complex center in Rosario.

That operation that was performed in New York was "quite complex because the tumor was encapsulated," Lole himself explained after the intervention.

According to him, "it was a very long surgery lasting six or seven hours and it took three months to heal."

According to those close to him, this operation

caused a deterioration in his health

and left some consequences.

Last March it was known that he had presented himself to receive the application of the coronavirus vaccine.

The senator had signed up on the page provided by the provincial government and received the turn for being part of one of the age groups considered to be of greater risk.

On that occasion, he agreed to take pictures with some nurses, so the episode became known after some images were disseminated on social networks.

It was one of the few public appearances of the leader in recent times.

This Monday will mark 40 years since Reutemann's last victory in Formula 1 at the Belgian Grand Prix in Zolder with a Williams.
