Emmanuel Macron has not escaped the norm.
The French President, like all his predecessors since General de Gaulle, promised, barely installed at the Elysee Palace, to
"renovate"
relations between France and Africa, to put an end to this hated "Françafrique", even if he never says that portmanteau.
"It must be a love story",
he explained in an interview with
Jeune Afrique.

In a speech delivered at the University of Ouagadougou in front of students, Emmanuel Macron had launched avenues to forge this new relationship.
The update on these advances was to be made last year, at the France-Africa summit in Bordeaux, a meeting finally canceled due to Covid.
Not sure that the Élysée was not satisfied with erasing, without appearing to be, this somewhat outdated meeting.

Instead, two mini-tops will stand.
The first, which opens Tuesday, will be devoted to debt.
It allows France, by extending the meeting to English-speaking countries but also to partners
