The government spokesman promised that France would launch "a diplomatic offensive" to try to obtain a "ceasefire" between Israelis and Palestinians.

Tensions in the Middle East are not decreasing in intensity.

On Saturday, the Israeli army bombed a building where Al-Jazeera and the American news agency Associated Press were housed, on the pretext that military equipment was hidden there.

These images, which have toured the world, have aroused many indignation.

"Find a lasting stabilization solution"

What should France's response be? Invited on RTL Monday morning, government spokesman Gabriel Attal called

"for de-escalation, for moderation"

,

"including in the aftershocks that Israel may have in the face of attacks on its soil"

. The Israelis have indeed suffered thousands of rocket attacks from Hamas for several days.

Gabriel Attal assured that France was

"at the initiative of a diplomatic offensive"

to find a solution to this conflict. He recalled that the executive wanted initially to obtain

"a ceasefire as quickly as possible"

, then

"to find a lasting stabilization solution for the region"

.

"These are our two objectives"

, he explained, indicating that France was going to

"work with the Egyptians, Jordanians and Germans" there.

The government spokesperson also warned against importing the conflict into France,

"which may be a temptation for certain political parties".

In support of the Palestinians, more than 20,000 people demonstrated on Saturday, especially in Paris where the gathering was banned.
