The Castle Peak Hospital was opened in 1961. For 60 years, it has become a symbol of mental illness due to its focus on treating mental patients.
Today, in addition to developing community services to take care of patients at home for a long time, patients can be discharged within a month to try to rejoin the society even if they need to be hospitalized urgently.
At the end of 2019, the hospital completed the "Mental Health Experience Hall". It is hoped that the exhibition hall will show the appearance of part of the Castle Peak Hospital and reduce public misunderstanding of mental patients.
There are actually some harsh treatment equipment and environments on display in the museum, such as restraint clothing and protective rooms. When you visit, you may be able to learn about the suffering of patients in those years for healing; but in the face of mental illness today, take a look. The pavilion, how much can people experience, the pain that the patients can't bear and collapse?
