- You have rediscovered your joy in the joint project.

“It's a lot of fun again, we like to go here,” confirms Klaus Schanda.

The ongoing lockdown has not changed that.

The marketing director of the Bavarian Zugspitzbahn and his three friends - Nic Nagel, owner of an advertising agency, Hans Conrad, managing director of the sports shop of the same name, and Franz Grasegger, boss of the well-known costume and fashion house - enjoy what they have built on Promenadestrasse in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

With their enoteca, in which they offer their favorite wines and drops from small winemakers, the “Cuatro Hombres” have fulfilled another dream.

They invested around 60,000 euros in the renovation.

"We are now doing the whole thing on our own," says Nagel. After the first tenant threw in the towel in frustration after the lockdown in 2020 and his potential successor canceled before his start, the "Cuatro Hombres", the four men, thought that the best solution. They are supported by Barbara Bokor, the former tenant of the Kreuzeckhaus, whom they brought on board as managing director. “She's a specialist,” emphasizes Schanda. Through her, the four of them also found their cook, Carlos Alberto Reindl from Uruguay, called Zapata, after his birth name. “It also goes with the figure I painted on the wall in the enoteca,” says Nagel. He means Emiliano Zapata, who fought for the rights of the lower classes in Mexico at the beginning of the 20th century.

Enoteca in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: wines from trips and friends, beer from a small craft brewer

The four friends used the months in which nothing was possible in the catering industry apart from out-of-home sales to redesign the corner shop adjoining their bar.

The previous carpet cleaning is not recognizable.

The quartet has invested around 60,000 euros in this area.

Torn out a wall, renewed the floor and windows.

The result is an enoteca, a vinotheque, with a mural reminiscent of the one in the bar and old workbenches.

One of them comes from Grasegger's grandpa, a carpenter.

On the shelves are the wines that Schanda, Conrad and Grasegger discovered on their travels.

“And which from friendly wineries,” says marketing expert Schanda.

They have special wines on offer that are not available in every wine shop and especially not online.

Nagel has added beer from a small craft brewer from Munich and a Tennessee whiskey to the range.

Bar and Enoteca Cuatro Hombres: 70 seats outside, regional products

The drinks are on sale. The packages for men and women evenings are particularly popular. The food truck, where Koch Reindl sells tortillas with lamb, fish and other regional products, is also in operation. For the four friends, what matters is where the goods they offer come from. After the Garmisch-Partenkirchner are now responsible for the bar and the enoteca, they have also turned the portion size and the price screw. Surely to the delight of their guests, who were not very impressed by the tenant's pricing. "Now we can do it as we want," emphasizes Nagel happily. And finally realize your plan to use the area with your networks. The 70 places in the outdoor area, which are still being planted, also play a central role.

The four friends never run out of ideas for further projects. The cooperation works, "everyone has their thing," says Schanda. But before they tackle something new, “we first have to get the bar and enoteca up and running”. They are still convinced that their concept of creating a living room for everyone will work. “This is also proven by the feedback we receive,” emphasizes Nagel. In the future, he, Schanda, Conrad and Grasegger will invest even more time in this. “And we really enjoy it,” confirms the agency boss. "One or the other of us is sometimes in the wine shop or behind the bar."
