On October 1, 2019, a number of pan-democrats including Li Zhiying, Ho Chunyan, Wu Wenyuan led a large number of citizens to march in Causeway Bay. They were later charged with organizing and participating in unauthorized gatherings. The case is today (17th). The court opened a trial.

All 10 defendants pleaded guilty of organizing an assembly without approval.

The prosecution read out the case and stated that the 10 defendants formed a team leader, holding a banner "Ending one-party dictatorship and returning power to the people" to lead the masses from Causeway Bay to Central.

Judge Hu Yawen is scheduled to hear the defendant's plea next Monday and will be sentenced next Friday (28th).

Six of the defendants who are now able to go out on bail must return to court tomorrow to deal with bail matters.

When FDC convener Chen Haohuan arrived in court this morning, he still urged the people of Hong Kong to speak out "Wang Hong Kong"; Ho Chun-jen said that he would not regret it and would not hesitate to hesitate.

Chen Haohuan’s application for no objection notice was rejected

The case alleged that Chen Haohuan, who was the deputy convener of the FDC at the time, applied to the police for a notice of no objection in September of the previous year. He planned to hold a rally and parade on October 1. However, the police refused to apply for reasons such as public safety, and the FDC’s appeal was still rejected. .

The police also held a press conference to persuade the public not to participate in any illegal assembly on October 1.

4 The defendant held a press conference to incite citizens to participate in the demonstration

However, Chen Haohuan, Li Cheuk-ren, Leung Kwok-hsiung, and Ho Chun-jen still held a press conference outside the Court of Final Appeal on September 30, inciting citizens to participate in the 10.1 parade and march from Causeway Bay to Central.

Chen Haohuan even stated that he expected to be arrested for participating in a demonstration, but he still chose to participate in civil disobedience. He Junren warned that citizens might be arrested for participating in a demonstration.

On the morning of October 1, Chen Haohuan posted two Facebook posts to remind the public that he participated in the parade held by Li Zhuoren, Liang Guoxiong, and He Junren.

Li Zhiying said in an interview that he came to the street

The 10 defendants formed the head of the parade, holding a banner or standing behind the banner of "Ending One-Party Dictatorship and Returning Power to the People", leading other participants to march from Causeway Bay to Central.

During the period, they took the lead in chanting different slogans, including "There are no mobs but tyranny." When the head of the team walked to the Wan Chai MTR station, Li Zhuoren led the masses to silently mourn the National Day for a minute.

Chen Haohuan, He Junren, Cai Yaochang, and Yang Sen met with the media before entering the court.

Chen Haohuan revealed that some of the defendants would plead guilty, but still urged Hong Kong people not to give up democracy and freedom. No matter on 6.4, 7.1 or other days, they must speak out.

Yang Sen also called on the people of Hong Kong to "stand hard."

He Junren pointed out that since mid-August, the police no longer issued notices of no objection to rallies and demonstrations. However, the citizens had a strong demand to speak up, and the rallies finally proceeded peacefully, orderly and rationally.

He Zhizhi pointed out that the government settled their accounts and imprisoned them in jail in an attempt to silence the citizens. Even if they would lose their freedom, they would not regret it or hesitate to hesitate.
