Daraa-Sana
The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Daraa estimated the quantities that will be marketed from the reproductive fields contracted in the current season at 17 thousand tons of wheat seeds and about 300 tons of barley seeds.
The assistant director of the seed multiplication branch, head of the marketing department, Eng. Mufid Al-Farwan, said in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that the reality of the contracted propagation fields is good in light of the field tours conducted by the committees formed for this purpose, stressing that the warehouses, laboratories, technical personnel and all requirements of the marketing season are ready.
He added that the total quantity of wheat seeds sold in the season 2020-2021 amounted to more than 10 thousand tons and of barley seeds 373 tons.
The branch set up a plan this season to produce 16 thousand tons of wheat seeds and one thousand tons of barley seeds.
