Willy Bardon, whose appeal trial in the case of the murder of Elodie Kulik in 2002 in the Somme is due to open in mid-June, is again imprisoned after violating his judicial review by coming into contact with a witness, according to his lawyer and the general prosecutor's office.
"On referral to the public prosecutor's office of Douai, the public prosecutor of Douai had Mr. Willy Bardon placed in judicial detention for violation of his judicial control on May 11, 2021"
, said Monday, May 17 the public prosecutor of the court of call from Douai Frédéric Fèvre.
"The next day, May 12, 2021, the judge of freedoms and detention of Douai revoked his judicial control and placed him under a committal warrant"
, he added, confirming information from

Defense lawyers have appealed this decision.
It will be examined by the chamber of instruction of Douai on Thursday.
Willy Bardon
"did not respect his judicial control because he did not have the right to contact (this man) but it had nothing to do with the case"
, assured AFP his lawyer Me Stéphane Daquo, specifying that the two men said they had discussed the purchase and repair of cars.
"It is someone who does not implicate him, who does not recognize his voice"
on the recording at the heart of the case, he insisted.
Willy Bardon was to appear free at the appeal trial before the North Assize Court from June 14.
Sentenced to 30 years of criminal imprisonment in December 2019 for rape and kidnapping and forcible confinement followed by death, he had seen his third request for release accepted in September 2020, pending his appeal trial.
During the trial at first instance, for which he appeared free, he denied any involvement.
He had attempted suicide by ingesting a pesticide seconds after the verdict was delivered.
