Seven years and eleven months of imprisonment: this is the request for sentencing made by the Locri prosecutor Michele Permunian against the former mayor of Riace Domenico "Mimmo" Lucano, accused in the "Xenia" trial of criminal association, abuse of office , fraud, extortion, embezzlement, auction disruption, ideological falsity and aiding and abetting illegal immigration for alleged illicit acts in the management of the migrant reception system in the center of Locride which had become famous all over the world for the policies on migrants carried forward.

For Lucano's partner, Lemlem Tesfahun, the prosecutor asked for 4 years and 4 months. The prosecution then asked for three acquittals and for the other defendants sentences sentences ranging from a minimum of 6 months to a maximum of 7 years and 11 months. In his indictment, the prosecutor argued among other things that "the defensive thesis that spoke of a 'political' trial was denied".

The Ministry of the Interior, through the state advocacy,

has asked for damages of 10 million to the defendants in the Xenia trial, including the former mayor of Riace Domenico Lucano

. The lawyer of the ministry, who intervened after the prosecution of the prosecutor, asked for a provisional amount of 2 million euros.
