The Syrian General Insurance Corporation has started the second phase of contracting with the Military Medical Services Department to provide services in military hospitals to holders of the health insurance card issued by the institution, announcing that a contract in this regard will be signed with the administration within days.

The Director General of the Foundation, Dr. Nizar Ziyoud, confirmed in a statement to the representative of SANA that the second contract with the Military Medical Services Department will include its affiliated hospitals in the governorates of Tartous, Lattakia, Homs and Deir Ezzor to work as a service provider and provide health services to the holders of the Syrian Insurance Card while exempting the insured from the deductible percentage set at 10 Percent inside the hospital.

Zyoud indicated that according to the aforementioned contract, the insured will also be exempt from the deductible rate set at 25% for external services such as analyzes, photos and x-rays when he visits the military hospitals in the aforementioned governorates.

In November last year, the Foundation announced the signing of the first contract with the Military Medical Services Department, which included the start of “providing services at Tishreen Military Hospital, Al-Bassel Specialized Center and Al-Rawda Specialist Center” as a service provider for the corporation’s health insurance card holders.

With regard to improving the level of income for workers in the Syrian General Insurance Corporation and its branches in the governorates, Zyoud revealed that a decision had been taken to increase the productive incentives for the employees of the institution to become 18 thousand Syrian pounds, to be disbursed starting from next June.

Zyoud pointed out that the Foundation is intensifying its efforts to increase its revenues in order to enable it to perform the tasks entrusted to it and reflect positively on the services provided to citizens, indicating in this regard that two days later, the seventh and eighth floors of the Foundation will be offered for rent through a public auction and in accordance with the duly established laws and regulations.

In order to develop health services provided to the insured, the Syrian General Insurance Corporation is studying a health insurance project that includes raising the ceiling of medical coverage for its insured workers inside and outside hospitals with regard to laboratory, pharmacy and doctor services, including chronic medicines, according to what Zyoud confirmed in a previous statement to SANA.
