Suspicious object on company parking lot causes large-scale operation in Nuremberg - Erlenstrasse completely closed

In Nuremberg Gibitzenhof a suspicious item caused a sensation.

The State Office of Criminal Investigation was notified and approached with sniffer dogs. 

Nuremberg - Employees of the company on Erlenstrasse discovered a suspicious object in a parking lot in Nuremberg Gibitzenhof on Monday morning (May 17).

The discovery led to a police operation.

Specialists from the State Criminal Police Office were able to give the all-clear in the meantime, according to a press release from the Central Franconian Police Headquarters *.

At around 7:00 am, the staff found the strange item and alerted the police.

A patrol crew from the Nuremberg * -Süd police station was able to detect a metallic object with a wire protruding from the scene.

The emergency services blocked the area as a precaution and notified specialists from the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, as the report shows.

The experts examined the object and were finally able to give the all-clear around 12 p.m. It was an electronic component wrapped in aluminum foil, which never posed any danger. 

In this context, Erlenstrasse was closed to traffic in the morning.

In addition to officers from the Nuremberg-Süd police station, a dog handler with a service dog and members of the fire and rescue services were also involved in the operation, according to the police headquarters.
