Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatib Zadeh strongly condemned the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, stressing that his country stands with the Palestinian people.
Khatib Zadeh stated in a press conference today that the criminal acts of the Zionist entity in occupied Palestine should be classified under the category of genocide as it constitutes a violation of human rights, stressing that the consecration of the rights of the Palestinian people is an international responsibility.
Khatib Zadeh called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibilities to put pressure on the Zionist entity to stop its criminal operations, stressing that the Palestinian issue is the first cause of the Islamic world and that supporting the Palestinian people is one of Iran's foreign policy priorities.
The occupation forces continue their aggression on the Gaza Strip for the eighth day in a row, which led to the death of more than two hundred Palestinians, in addition to the injury of more than 1,200 others, and extensive damage to the infrastructure.
On another issue, Khatibzadeh said that Iran focuses on its positions in the negotiations on the nuclear deal and does not want the dialogues to continue in a manner of exhaustion.
