Corona: That also meant a forced break for the Freising association “Room of Encounter”.
But now you are looking forward again full of energy.
Freising
- The non-profit association “Freising Room of Encounter” has been committed to social diversity and integration since 2011. It currently has 76 members. The annual general meeting recently took place - due to the pandemic, however, as an online event. Before the general assembly, the members of the association elected a new association committee in rotation, whereby the election had to be made by postal vote. There was a major change in the club committee, as many of the previous committee members did not run again. The new committee elected: Bernd Grosche (1st chairman), Marina Decker (2nd chairwoman), Johanna Sticksel (treasurer, re-elected), Ronald Homann (secretary), and Michael Emmer (another committee member for IT). Meral Meindl and Andrea Plötz were confirmed as auditors.
The outgoing chairman says thank you
The outgoing first chairman Peter Helfert drew a positive balance: “The high voter turnout of 60 percent shows the great interest of the members in the association.
I am pleased that the club, which has the name 'Encounter' in its name, has made encounters possible in some cases even in these difficult times, as far as the conditions allow. ”There were many reasons for Peter Helfert to be particularly warm to thank his team, all helpers and the city of Freising for the good cooperation in various areas.
His special thanks went to the department head Karl-Heinz Wimmer (education, social affairs and sport).

The room is home to many groups
After the election, Bernd Grosche thanked the previous chairman Peter Helfert and the resigning vice chairman Isfendiyar Pürnak for the work they had done and emphasized that the new committee would do everything in its power to restore the meeting room as soon as possible to hand over the actual purpose, namely to be an intercultural meeting place - according to the association's motto “We want to enable encounters between people in their diversity”.
The space is home to many groups from the social, cultural and environmental sectors.
He thus makes a significant contribution to strengthening the diverse, voluntary activities and getting to know each other in Freising.
Bernd Grosche hopes that the association's relationship with the city will continue to be so positive.
