Although the post of the Catholic bishop of Hong Kong, which has been vacant since January 2019, has finally come to a conclusion, the political stance of the bishop who succeeded in the anti-amendment era has naturally attracted attention.
Zhou Shouren has expressed his views on political incidents in recent years, emphasizing the need to listen to the voices of young people. "Lansi" may think this is not good.
However, he also criticized violent behavior during the legislative turmoil, believing that it is illegal to propose "Hong Kong independence". After the "Hong Kong District National Security Act" came into effect, he sent a letter to two Huaren Colleges stating that the school is not a political organization, and it may also be "yellow". It’s better to block than to sparse different positions and more communication
But as Zhou Shouren said, there are many young people who have different views on the current situation in Hong Kong. It is necessary to learn more about the young people's thinking and invite them to discuss rather than debate.
Similarly, in Hong Kong society, the citizens have yellow and blue, deep and shallow. What we need is to get out of the stratosphere, listen to different voices, and replace malicious debate with benign communication.
When Zhou Shouren was asked about China's "demolition of the cross" on Monday, he said that subjectively "feeling bad", but wanted to know the reasons behind the government's move.
For another example, he thinks that it is illegal to propose "Hong Kong independence", but he also needs to understand why some people think that Hong Kong needs "independence."
These two things can be said to be at the two ends of yellow and blue, but only subjective feelings or superficial solutions to the problem are not enough. Understanding the behavior motives behind it is fundamental.
Similarly, some citizens are very disgusted with the government's governance and even the epidemic prevention measures, but instead of staying on the surface, why not take multiple steps to think about the need to do so?
The government has repeatedly talked about the work of law enforcement officers and the regulation of new legal provisions, and the society is now calm and quite comfortable with it.
But when the government is satisfied with the law in exchange for social peace, it must actually understand that law enforcement is blocking and communication is sparse. It is difficult not to worry about the proliferation of public sentiments.
