Moscow-Sana

Deputy Director of the Russian National Coordination Center for Cybersecurity Nikolai Murashov confirmed today that the attempts to steal Russian state secrets have all been unsuccessful.

"The hackers who launched electronic attacks on Russian government institutions were unable to steal any of the state secrets in any way," Murashov was quoted by TASS news agency.

In a related context, Murashov refuted the US allegations about Russia’s involvement in the electronic attack on the Colonial, the largest oil pipeline in the United States, noting that the Americans often rely on a "screaming strategy" where they make allegations and accusations through the media and refuse to talk face to face.

In early January, the US Agency for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security published a joint statement claiming that Russia was behind the electronic attack on the Colonial pipeline with the aim of obtaining intelligence information from US government agencies.

Washington also charged Russia with several accusations without providing clear evidence, and subsequently imposed sanctions on Russian officials based on these allegations and accusations.

Earlier in the day, Sergey Naryshkin, Director of Russian Foreign Intelligence, confirmed that the accusations directed by the United States to Russia regarding carrying out cyber attacks, poisoning dissidents and piracy of information and websites are absurd.
