In recent years, the Hong Kong government has actively promoted career planning, hoping to help students understand their potential as soon as possible and develop their development direction.

In order to understand the implementation of life planning education in senior primary schools and the views of life planning education in the primary education sector, the Hong Kong Primary Education Research Association established a research team and sent a sample of questionnaires to primary schools in January this year to conduct surveys.

The vast majority (95%) of the teachers interviewed believe that life planning education in senior primary schools should enable students to recognize their own interests and abilities, and nearly 90% of teachers believe that the Education Bureau has the responsibility to promote life planning education to senior primary school parents.

The society recommends that the government strengthen parent education, teach parents to respect their children's interests and dreams, and understand the needs of future social talents.

The Hong Kong Elementary Education Research Association issued a questionnaire to a number of primary schools in January this year to learn about the implementation of life planning education in primary schools in Hong Kong and the views of the primary education sector.

The survey shows that most elementary schools promote life planning education in high schools in a school-based form, including inserting content in moral education, general studies, life education or class teacher classes, and also arrange to visit companies or play Sims and other activities.

In a report submitted to the Education Bureau by the Task Force on School Curriculum Review last year, it recommended that senior primary schools conduct life planning education.

The association pointed out that the survey found that the curriculum planning and overall support for life planning education in senior primary schools are significantly worse than those in secondary schools, and there is insufficient parent education or teacher training.

The Hong Kong Elementary Education Research Association recommends that the government strengthen parent education for life planning and educate parents to respect their children's interests and dreams.
