Two corona demonstrations - one registered and one not registered - took place in Dorfen over the weekend.

Dorfen - A lot going on at the Lower Market in Dorfen: On Saturday around 40 participants demonstrated against the Corona measures for children.

Over 50 people met on Sunday for the folding chair breakfast - an unannounced gathering that was later broken up by the police.

Erding district: demo against corona measures - "Children are the biggest losers of the crisis"

"I clearly distance myself from left and right groups," said Jennifer Voss, organizer of the parents' demo in Dorfen. “But we live in a democracy,” added the social worker from Dorfen. She would have seen a gentleman in an AfD cap, but she could not, of course, expel him. "But it cannot be that we don't dare to speak our mind just because these groups are occupying all events against the current Corona policy - I don't want to leave the field to them."

As the mother of three children, the powerlessness that she felt since the beginning of the pandemic made her almost sick, said Voss: "Children are the biggest losers of the crisis." In her speech on Saturday at Untere Markt, the village woman repeatedly referred to them psychological consequences that homeschooling and lockdown have for the offspring.

"Children have no lobby, they have no voice, and they have been forgotten by politics," she railed.

Voss also spoke out clearly against the requirement to wear a mask and tests for the offspring.

Because of kindergarten closings and the double burden of homeschooling and home office, many parents are at the end: “They have no more strength.” She also wants to take to the streets with like-minded people next Saturday, and has registered the next demo at Untere Markt for ten o'clock.

Dorfen: Parents demonstrate against Corona measures - 50 people meet for a folding chair breakfast

Isolated banners could be seen at the rally: “Don't give gates a chance” or “Planned chemistry”.

AfD Bundestag candidate Peter Junker was also at the parents' demo.

There he found out about the folding chair breakfast, he said.

Together with a “group of people”, the AfD politician came again the next day for a cozy get-together at the Lower Market in Dorfen.

Fifty people and their children sat in the square, had folding chairs and tables set up, drinking coffee and chatting.

However, this “sit in” was not registered.

“Such an action is not okay, it should have consequences,” said Michaela Meister, chairwoman of the “Dorfen ist bunt” association. The same group of people always come together, says the SPD city councilor: "There are political forces who take advantage of the situation, jump out and pretend to defend basic rights." She and her colleagues are planning events in the coming months against the right, she announced.

Of course, the AfD cannot be compared with the right-wing extremist NPD of that time, because of whose marches in Isenstadt “Dorfen ist bunt” only joined forces in 2006, said Doris Minet, former third mayor of Dorfen and second chairwoman of the association.

"But before you sit down on a folding chair, you should ask why and for what the people at Unteren Markt are sitting together."

At around 3 p.m., the police broke up the event, according to Hans Rumpfinger from the Dorfen police station.

"The event was not registered, the rules of distance were not adhered to."

Hans Otto Seitschek, Managing Director of KBW and the Family Center in Erding, talks about the challenges of the corona pandemic and what to expect afterwards.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our new, regular Erding newsletter.
