The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the United States and its allies still had a chance to review their positions on maintaining the Open Skies Treaty.
Russian media quoted Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov as saying today, "There is still a chance before the entry into force of the special law on withdrawal from the treaty, and the Americans and their allies still have the opportunity to reconsider their positions on the treaty."
The United States ended its withdrawal procedures from the treaty on November 22, after it began on May 22, 2020, while Russia announced on January 15 that it would start the procedures for withdrawal.
