There is little left to reach the
middle of the year
, at which time the workers of private companies and the public sector are responsible for receiving the first payment of the
supplementary annual salary (SAC)
, better known as
Christmas bonus
.
There are usually several doubts about what is the amount that should be received up to what date it is credited, going through a not minor question: what to do with the money.
For many, the Christmas bonus is synonymous with pending purchases and payment of debts to catch up, but for others it can become an opportunity to invest it and generate new income.
The bonus will be paid at the end of June.

When is the 2021 Christmas bonus paid?
The Supplementary Annual Salary is divided into two payments: a half bonus in
June
and another in
December
.
Each half bonus corresponds to
50% of the highest monthly salary
received by the worker within each of the semesters.
According to the provisions of Law 27,073, the
first installment
is paid on the
last working day of June
and the second installment on the last working day of December.
For many, the Christmas bonus is synonymous with shopping, paying debts or saving.

How is the Christmas bonus calculated in Argentina?
To find out how much to charge in June, you have to make a
very simple account
: divide the best salary of the semester by 12 and then multiply it by the months worked to date (if you worked the entire semester, to know how much will be charged in June there is than multiply it by 6).
If during the semester (from January to June) a person did not work every month (either because they started working recently or because the contract expired), they must collect the amount
proportional to the months worked
.
What to do with the money?
The main use that is usually made with the income of these pesos is, in general, linked to the payment of debts that have accumulated in recent months, to the consumption of durable goods, that is, purchases that have been postponed, or to savings through the purchase of dollars so that the money
does not lose value
over time.
Regarding this last option,
Diego Martínez Burzaco
, Inviu's Head of Research, told
Clarín
: "In the world there is
inflation of 2 to 3% per year
, so that while buying dollars serves to face economic problems that exists in Argentina, does not solve the fundamental problem that is
to grow
long-term
capital
".

In that case
, investment alternatives
can be sought
to beat inflation and obtain higher profits from these savings.
Currently there are different attractive instruments to start investing in the Stock Market, through financial agencies or banks, but not all of them generate the same return, nor do they involve the same risk.
Which are?
Here are three
recommendations to invest bonuses
of up to $ 20,000, up to $ 50,000, or for those that exceed $ 50,000.
1. Investment options for a bonus of up to $ 20,000
For relatively low amounts, the most recommended alternative is the
Common Investment Funds (FCI)
.
"Within this option there are a variety of
bonds that adjust for inflation
, as well as dollarized bonds, although the risk in that case begins to increase. In addition, mixed investment portfolios with assets and bonds can be considered to have the
most diversified money. and safe,
"Martinez Burzaco advised.
"If you don't want to take too much risk, I recommend Funds that have Treasury bills adjusted for inflation," he said.
.
For his part, InvertirOnline Research Manager,
José Ignacio Bano
, agreed to allocate this amount of money to
Common Investment Funds
. In this sense, he mentioned the
AdCap Balanced II
fund
, which obtains a nominal return that
exceeds retail inflation
(measured by CER) through its positioning in instruments adjustable by CER and UVA.
Taking into account the latest
inflation
data for
the month of April released by the National Institute of Statistics (INDEC), which was 4.1%, which added to what resulted from the first months of the year has already accumulated a rise of 17.6%, for Bano "
it is the greatest threat at the moment
for people's pockets, so it is best to protect yourself."
On the other hand, he also recommended the
Premier Commodities Fund
, which invests among others in soybeans, which at this time reached a value that it did not have nine years ago.
"This fund has
60%
in the portfolio
invested in soybean futures
and the rest has mainly 25% in other commodities such as iron, gold and oil through Cedears of different companies."
2. Investment options for a Christmas bonus from $ 20,000 to $ 50,000
"In this case, a mix can be made in the investment portfolio between some
Common Investment Fund and dollars
. Or some
Cedear
that are Certificates of foreign shares that allow investing with pesos in Argentina," suggested Burzaco de Inviu.
For Bano, it would be necessary to maintain the position of the two Funds mentioned above and also "add
Cedears
due to the advantage that it means for the investor to have
a local asset
but which is
linked to the exchange rate
."
3. Investment options for a Christmas bonus greater than $ 50,000
"In this case, I would recommend
opening the game
and if one is more willing to
take a little more risk,
invest in a mix of bonds adjusted for inflation, some local stocks and Cedears, always at the local level," said Martinez Burzaco.
For Bano, from Invertir Online, "if you want to incorporate a little more local risk, it could be a good alternative, in a small position or in a lower percentage,
investing in shares of YPF, or of a bank
. Always knowing that they could be a opportunity, although with volatility and thinking in the long term ".
